Julia Meshke's family ancestry prior to her father is presently unknown. Her father was Ignatz Meshke, born 17 Mar 1837.
He lived in the New London Wisconsin area and worked on the railroad on a track crew. A story was told that, on occasion,
he walked with wheelbarrows of grain to be ground at the mill in Appleton 20 to 30 miles away. Ignatz was married twice,
the name of his first wife is not known at this time. Paul was born in Germany of his first marriage and is therefore
Julia's half brother. Ignatz then married Elizabeth Klavitter, probably in the late 1860's. Elizabeth was born 26 Nov 1841
in the Province of Pozen, Germany and immigrated to Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1865. She moved to New London in 1872. Ignatz and
Elizabeth lived at 410 Beacon Avenue; the house still stands there at this writing. Ignatz passed away on 31 Mar 1906 and
Elizabeth on 13 Apr 1926. The Ignatz Meshke children include:

Julia Meshke was born in Waukesha, WI. 28 Dec 1869 and passed away from cancer in Chicago on 29 Jun 1959.
She had resided in Chicago for at least 30 years, She is buried at Most Precious Blood Cemetery at New London, WI.

Ike Poepke, cigar makers. They had 8 children:

Ike, (nicknamed Mike) married Louise Ann Geerdes, 22 May 1905. Louise was born in North Dakota in 1884 and passed away
on 15 Oct 1972. Mike & Louise are buried at Regina Memorial Gardens, Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. Ike changed his name
in 1905 to Meshka because a neighbor had the same last name and their mail was continually mixed up. They had 12 children:
